Disaster Focus: Islamist fighters allied to Islamic State & killed at least a dozen patients at a clinic overnight

Islamic State has claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attack, which targeted the town of Lume in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, the group’s news agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Saturday.

On Friday, two witnesses said the attackers killed at least a dozen patients at the clinic overnight, blaming the attack on Islamist fighters linked to Islamic State.
