Technology Focus: Country can be connected seamlessly with next-generation network solution & congestion in 4G

A total of 15 cities in different parts of the country can be connected seamlessly with a next-generation network solution that can address the challenges of congestion in 4G infrastructure and provide high-tech and affordable internet connectivity. A network solution called Giga-Mesh wireless provides fiber backhaul capacity and opens up 5G traffic. The solution was developed by Astrome, a startup of advanced technology that accelerates the implementation of 5G communication infrastructure and rural areas through its patented E-band radios and satellite communications solutions.

They have signed a contract with the Department of Communications to launch a pilot in 15 Indian districts. Plans are in place to expand employment to many rural areas of India on a probationary basis. The launch is supported by AI & Robotics Technology Park (ARTPARK), the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), which aims to plan the future of the millimeter wave of wireless communications on Earth and in space.

GigaMesh, developed by Astrome, supported by ARTPARK, is the world’s first E-band broadcaster that can communicate from one tower to multiple towers simultaneously while delivering GBPS output to each of these towers. One GigaMesh device can provide up to 40 links with 2 + Gbps throughput, connecting a distance of 10 km.

This flexibility makes it ideal for both eliminating congested urban networks and extending rural spreads. With a large Indian population in the rural area, Astrome can help improve local internet connectivity. ARTPARK is a non-profit foundation promoted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, with support from AI Foundry in a public-private partnership model to promote technological development in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics with seed support. from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government. India, under the auspices of the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) and the Karnataka Government. It is designed to bring together a collaborative partnership from industry, academia, and government institutions.

Major hardware manufacturers (OEMs) such as Ericsson, Siklu, Huawei and NEC have made E-band products. While all of these products can only make point-to-point connections, requiring a large number of devices to increase shipping costs, Gigamesh with the introduction of ARTPARK, integrates multiple point-to-point connections to E-Band, reducing costs and running software to make it easier to feed , maintenance and repair remotely. Apart from this, AI researchers at ARTPARK, in collaboration with Health Tech start-up Niramai Health Analytix and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), also developed the XraySetu, a platform that can interpret chest X-rays with 98.86 sensitivity % in COVID-19 within a few years seconds.

ARTPARK also organized the ARTPARK Innovation Summit which brought industry, academia and government under one roof to discuss key topics such as how to build next-generation connections in rural areas, Bharat health AI, Bharat connections and Drones, inclusive learning the future. and building an AI and research ecosystem. Apart from this, they participated in the Indian Army’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UGV) test and showed India the only Legged Robotic Dog.
