Forest and Climate Focus: “Bird Identification and Basic Ornithology” Certificated Course by WWF -opportunity for environmental contribution and job creation

The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF& CC), in line with the Prime Minister’s Skill India Mission, has spearheaded a campaign to develop skills in the natural and forestry sector so that Indian youth can find productive jobs under Green Skill. Development Plan (GSDP). The program seeks to develop skilled technical personnel with technical knowledge and commitment to sustainable development to achieve National Contributions (NDCs), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Biodiversity Targets (NBTs), and Waste Management Regulations (2016).
For the current financial year, namely 2022-2023, WWF ENVIS RP has produced four sets of GSDP Certificate Studies in “Bird Identification and Basic Ornithology”. The course gave students from all over the country the opportunity to gain knowledge about various aspects of ornithology. 30% of the students who attended the courses have already been placed in the relevant categories. The course is free and fully supported by MoEF& CC.
