The 2021 World Happiness Report was released by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Finland was also crowned as the happiest country in the world. The World Happiness Report is a landmark survey of 149 countries in a global sense of happiness. India is ranked 139th out of 149 countries in the list of UN World Happiness Report 2021. In 2019, India was ranked 140th.

The 2021 World Happiness Report focuses on the effects of Covid-19 and how people around the world are performing.The annual report estimates countries based on gross domestic product per person, healthy living years and citizen perceptions. The survey asked respondents to rate 1-10 on how much community support they feel they have when things go wrong, their freedom to choose their own lives, their sense of how corrupt their society is and how generous they are.
