Transport Focus: Government of Bihar and FICCI come together for promoting Civil Aviation sector in Bihar

Civil aviation in India, the third largest public aviation market in the world since 2020. Through the National Public Aviation Policy 2016 (NCAP) government plans to take the masses by air by improving access and communication. It promotes ease of business, law enforcement, simplified procedures, and e management.

The Regional Connectivity Scheme or UDAN (‘UdeDeshkaAamNagrik’) is an integral part of NCAP 2016. This program plans to improve connectivity to India’s unanswered and poorly maintained airports and aims to make travel more accessible and widespread. So far 14 airports have been identified in Gujarat, Assam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep provinces.

The National Aviation Policy (NCAP) covers the MRO industry and focuses on alleviating the pain points that have been impacting the Indian aviation industry. In April 2020, excise duty on goods and services rendered in the MRO was reduced from 18% to 5%. Its domestic departure accounts for 69% of total air traffic in South Asia. The capacity of India airport is expected to carry 1 billion flights a year by 2023. The Department of Public Aviation is responsible for developing national aviation policies and programs. Today, Lok Sabha will discuss and vote on the budget of the Department of Public Aviation. As a result, we are discussing important issues with the aviation industry in India.

The aviation industry has been under a lot of financial pressure during the Covid-19 violence. Following the suspension of the flight in March 2020, airlines in India reported losses worth more than Rs 19,500 crore while airports reported losses worth more than Rs 5,120 crore. However, many airlines were under financial pressure before the epidemic affected passengers. For example, 15 years ago, seventeen aircraft flew out of the market. Of those, two aircraft, Air Odisha Aviation Pvt Ltd and Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd have left the market in 2020.

The Department of Civil Aviation, Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Bihar and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry organized a Conference to promote the Civil Aviation Sector in Bihar province. The conference brought together Indian aviation professionals to strengthen the government’s opportunities for Airport infrastructure, Heli services, agribusiness, and tourism, expand regional connectivity, attract investors, and identify businesses.

Bihar is one of the most developing provinces in India and has great potential for growth. In recent years the provincial public aviation sector has seen strong growth in terms of passenger terms, airport infrastructure etc. and has the key to linking the state with other regions of the country while advancing Tourism, trade, and international trade. of the earth. The government has benefited greatly from the normal operation of airlines from Darbhanga airport since 2020. Darbhanga airport has direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bangalore while Patna is now connected to Amritsar, Varanasi and Prayagraj under the UDAN-2.0 system .
