Gyanvapi Mosque Case: Varanasi District Courts completed the hearing

The Varanasi Regional Court on Monday concluded a hearing on the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi Muslim case and withheld its decision until tomorrow. A separate judge, AK Vishvesha, heard a civil case in this case. The trial began in court days after the Supreme Court ruled it would not interfere with the study of mosques in Gyanvapi and asked the lower court to rule on whether the Hindu case was maintained.

Only 23 people, including 19 counselors and four applicants, were allowed to enter court during the trial, police said. Former court commissioner Ajay Mishra was not allowed inside the court. According to reports, court officials said only those whose names would be ‘vakalatnama’ were allowed to enter the courtroom.
