Drs. Virendra Kumar presents CRC services : Shillong

Minister of Social Justice and Development Dr. Virendra Kumar inaugurated the Composite Regional Center (CRC) Skills Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment for People with Disabilities (Divyangjan) in Shillong before the Minister of Justice and Social Development. Km. PratimaBhoumik, Shri KyrmenShylla, Minister of Social Development, Govt. of Meghalaya, ShriVincent H Pala, M.P., Meghalaya, Smt.MazelAmpareenLyngdoh, MLA, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong.

Smt. Anjali Bhawra (IAS), Secretary, DEPwD, MSJ & E, GOI, Smt.S.B.Marak (MCS) Commissioner for People with Disabilities, Meghalaya Government, ShriSampath Kumar, IAS, Secretary General, Department of Social Development, Government. Meghalaya, ShriNachiketa Rout, Director, NIEPMD, Chennai, Dr. Roshan Bijlee, Director & Nodal Officer of CRC (Kozhikode &Shillong) and other senior officials were also present at the event.

CRC Shillong is located on 10 acres of Land provided by the Government. Meghalaya at Monfort Building, Dhendti, Shillong and operating under the auspices of the National Institute for Empowerment of Person With Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Chennai, under the Department of Disability Empowerment (Divyangjan), Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), Government. of India for the purpose of creating the necessary resources and services for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in Meghalaya Province.

Provides AIDS and Disability Services

The Indian government has set up CRCs in various parts of India, especially in the North East countries. CRC in Shillong is the 20th such center and has been operational since 19 July 2021.CRC Shillong provides clinical services to People with Disabilities (PwDs) such as Special Education, Physical Therapy, Hand Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Walking Training and Training, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Healing Services, Orthopedic Services, Neurosurgery and Neurology, and community-based rehabilitation services in Meghalaya.

CRC Shillong also provides AIDS and Disability Services (PwDs) under the ADIP Scheme by setting up a testing camp and ADIP distribution.In addition to providing clinical services, the organization is involved in creating awareness, developing resources, running outreach programs, implementing Department of Social Justice and Empowerment schemes.
