In education, the district has tried to improve the ‘student and teacher ratio in primary schools’ from 16% to 35% over the past 4 years, indicating an improvement in governance and skills development. Sitamarhi is also approaching the implementation of the school infrastructure guidelines and has embarked on new and innovative processes such as the establishment of Modern Libraries, initiating a wholehearted participation of students, teachers and parents, which may be extended to other districts.

Launched by the Prime Minister in January 2018, the ADP aims to quickly and effectively transform underdeveloped regions across the country. The broader framework of the program includes Integration, Collaboration and Competition between regions through monthly delta planning, all driven by mass mobility.

As the provinces are the main drivers, the program focuses on the strength of each region, identifies low-hanging fruits for rapid development and measures progress by ranking districts on a monthly basis.
