In a daring daylight heist, a group of armed robbers stormed a Tanishq showroom in Bihar’s Arrah on Monday, looting jewellery worth ₹25 crore at gunpoint. The criminals overpowered staff, locked the showroom’s shutter, and held employees hostage for 30 minutes before fleeing.
The entire incident was captured on the showroom’s CCTV, and the footage has gone viral on social media. Witnesses claim there were 8-9 robbers, and despite multiple distress calls, the police response was delayed.
An SIT has been formed under SSP Parichay Kumar, and Bihar Police have arrested two accused, recovering looted jewellery, two pistols, and a motorcycle. A police chase ensued when officers spotted six suspects on three bikes. In the exchange of fire, two criminals were shot in the legs and arrested, while the hunt for the remaining gang members continues.
Two showroom staff members were injured after being struck on the head with a revolver. Employees criticized the security lapse, emphasizing that the robbery happened in broad daylight.
The police are now working to recover all stolen valuables and apprehend the remaining suspects as the high-profile heist sends shockwaves across the state.
