In a significant development within the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), former Union minister Pashupati Paras was recently evicted from the party’s Patna office, a place he called home for nearly four decades. The building, located near Patna airport, was officially registered as the LJP office by Paras’s brother, the late Ram Vilas Paswan. However, Paras had also lived there with his family unofficially for years.
Following an eviction order from Bihar’s building construction department, Paras vacated the premises ahead of the November 13 deadline. According to reports, Paras sought intervention from top BJP leaders in Delhi to retain the property, but his nephew, Chirag Paswan, remained firm on the decision, ensuring the eviction proceeded smoothly.
Chirag Paswan, who had previously faced eviction from his father’s 12 Janpath Road bungalow in Delhi, sees this as a crucial moment after his uncle split the party and took over its reins. This rift led to longstanding tension between the two family members, with Chirag alleging that Paras received political benefits after dividing the LJP.
Paras has now relocated to his residence in the MLA Colony, marking an end to an era for the Paswan family’s historic connection with the LJP office.
