First Global AYUSH Investment & Innovation conference in Gandhinagar concludes with investment of Rs 9,000 crore

The first Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit (GAIIS) summit in Gandhinagar concluded on a high note last night, with the AYUSH sector certifying the Goals (LoIs) of more than Rs 9,000 crores. Investment proposals have met with major categories such as FMCG, Medical Value Travel (MVT) and services, medicine, technology and diagnostics, and farmers and agriculture.

During the conference, more than 70 MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) were signed between countries, prestigious research institutes, farmer groups and industry. In addition to international exchanges, an agreement was signed between the AYUSH Department and the Ministry of Defense to establish AYUSH centers in more than 35 locations in India.

The Minister of Trade Unions said at the conference

Speaking at the event, Union Minister AYUSH SarbanandaSonowal said the Summit had played a key role in creating a framework that allows for investment in the sector. “Investors and entrepreneurs around the world have realized the benefits of comparing AYUSH offers, and its strengths,” he added. Shri Sonowal went on to say that the opportunities for investment and innovation in the AYUSH sector are endless.

Growth from $ 3 billion to $ 18 billion

 Speaking at the event, the Minister of Sport and Youth and Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur said the market size of AYUSH saw a quantum jump from just over $ 3 billion in 2014 to $ 18 billion, coupled with impressive annual growth. at 75%. The Minister expressed hope that the country will soon see many Start-ups and businesses investing in the sector. To encourage competition, Shri Anurag Thakur said we need better packaging for our products and this should go hand in hand with strong marketing and advertising.

The Minister also noted that “the time has come for India to become the Vishwa Guru in traditional medicine. We must work in the spirit of One World, One Health and promote Healing in India, making our country a tourist destination ”Gujarat Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat was the guest of honor at the conference. MoS for Tourism Shri Shripad Yesso Naik and MoS for AYUSH Dr. MahendraMunjapara was also present during the event.

The Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit, 2022 was a unique attempt by the Government of India to attract the whole country to ancient Indian wisdom and traditional knowledge, and to invest in it to pave the way for a sustainable future. The Summit was organized in line with Sustainable Development Goal No. 3 to promote “Good Health and Welfare.”

The Summit is comprised of a series of five-nation conference meetings, eight tables, six workshops, and two forums, all covered in a short three-day session. The conference was attended by 90 keynote speakers and 100 exhibitors. It also saw the participation of more than 30 FMCG companies including Amul, Dabur, Kama Ayurveda, Accord, AyurVAID, Natural Remedies, Ambro Pharma and Patanjali.

The Global AYUSH Investment & Innovation Summit was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in front of the Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jagnauth and the Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. TedrosGhebreyesus at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on April 20.
