Honda upgrades three new electric car platforms by 2030

Honda Motor Co. plans to build millions of electric vehicles (EV) by 2030 using three new dedicated platforms, one of which will be developed in partnership with US counterpart General Motors Co Japan’s chief executive officersaid the automakerShinji Aoyama, Honda’s global head of electrical installation, the company would launch a small electric car in Japan in 2024, built on the new EV.

 This will be followed by a full-size electric model for North America by 2026, in a large new area. Both of these stadiums will be used for other models. The two companies in early April said they were jointly developing “affordable electric vehicles” in world markets, but released a few more details.

“Whether they will be based on the construction of Honda or in the GM area has not yet been determined,” Aoyama said. We have not yet determined which plants (or) will be produced, “he added.” But we will share a “production” bill to enable cars to be manufactured “by Honda or GM industries. To build two Honda premiums electric SUVs in North America, from 2024, based on on a dedicated EV platform supporting GM Cadillac Lyriq. The Japanese automaker has no plans to participate in the integration of GM’s Ultium battery with South Korea’s LG Energy Solution (051910.KS), he said.

Honda says it plans to build two million electric vehicles worldwide by 2030, including mid-range GM-developed models and another 400,000-500,000 in Japan and other markets.
