As the sun rises over the picturesque landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, voters across both states are flocking to polling booths to cast their ballots in the much-anticipated assembly elections of 2024.

As of 9 am, nearly 8% of eligible voters have already participated in the electoral process in Sikkim, while Arunachal Pradesh has recorded a turnout of 6.63%, according to data from the Election Commission of India.

Prominent leaders, including Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, have set an example by casting their votes early in the day. Their actions emphasize the importance of active participation in the democratic process.

Meanwhile, Google has joined in commemorating the occasion by featuring a special doodle depicting an inked index finger, symbolizing the ongoing voting process across India for the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Security measures have been beefed up in Arunachal Pradesh to ensure smooth polling, with a robust deployment of central armed police forces and state police personnel. These efforts aim to maintain peace and order as voters exercise their franchise.
