Mukhtar Ansari’s Funeral Concludes; Post-Mortem Indicates Natural Death

Gazipur, India – March 30, 2024 |  The mortal remains of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari were laid to rest on Saturday morning in Uttar Pradesh’s Gazipur district, following a post-mortem examination that revealed the cause of his death.

Ansari’s body arrived at his residence late Friday night, with the city’s administration deploying heavy police presence to oversee the funeral proceedings.

Sibgatullah Ansari, Mukhtar Ansari’s elder brother, announced that the last rites would take place on Saturday morning due to a delay in receiving the body.

Mukhtar Ansari, a murder convict, passed away in a Banda hospital where he was serving a sentence. While initial allegations hinted at foul play, the post-mortem examination confirmed that he died of a cardiac arrest, dispelling rumors of poisoning.

A senior hospital source, overseeing the post-mortem examination, revealed that a panel of five doctors concluded Ansari’s cause of death to be a heart attack.

In response to the family’s concerns, a three-member team will conduct a magisterial investigation into Mukhtar Ansari’s death.

Umar Ansari, Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son, expressed hope that the investigation would address the family’s suspicions, emphasizing their belief that his death was not natural but an orchestrated murder.

Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to the hospital at 8:25 pm on Thursday, where a team of nine doctors attended to him, but he succumbed during treatment.

Sibgatullah Ansari lamented the alleged lack of proper treatment provided to his brother during his hospitalization.
