Police in Spain have held onto perhaps the biggest revelation of taxidermy creatures in Europe as they explore possible pirating, after a goliath stockroom in Valencia was found to contain toys including rhinos, polar bears and elephants.
The Guardia Civil found more than 1,000 examples in a 50,000 square meter (538,000 square foot) modern distribution center in Betera, Valencia on Wednesday, it said in articulation on Sunday.
The take of squishy toys included more than 400 safeguarded species, including some that are terminated, like the scimitar oryx, or seriously undermined, like the Bengal tiger. Others included lions, panthers, cheetahs and lynx.
The stockroom proprietor is being scrutinized for sneaking and wrongdoings against greenery, police said. He has not been captured.
Specialists gauge the squishy toys are worth 29 million euros ($32 million).The disclosure was the summit of an examination by Valencia police’s Nature Protection Team, which started in November 2021 when specialists became mindful of a potential private assortment in Betera.
