Conspiracy to Topple Delhi Government: Kejriwal Claims BJP Offered ₹25 Crore to AAP MLAs

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made startling allegations, asserting that there’s a conspiracy afoot to topple his government. Kejriwal revealed that seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs were offered a staggering ₹25 crore each to defect to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with promises of arresting him and subsequent destabilization of the AAP government.

Kejriwal took to social media to expose the alleged plot, stating, “Recently they contacted our 7 MLAs in Delhi and said ‘we will arrest Kejriwal after a few days. After that, we will break the MLAs. Talks have been held with 21 MLAs… After that, we will topple the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. you can also come. Will give ₹25 crore and contest the elections on BJP ticket.”

He further clarified that while the BJP claimed to have approached 21 MLAs, only seven had been contacted, all of whom rejected the offer. Kejriwal emphasized that this indicates a concerted effort to destabilize his government, rather than any genuine concern regarding a liquor scam investigation.

Asserting his confidence in the unity of AAP MLAs and the support of the people, Kejriwal stated, “In the last nine years, they hatched many conspiracies to topple our government. But they did not get any success… All our MLAs are also strongly together.”

The Delhi BJP promptly refuted Kejriwal’s allegations, challenging the AAP to provide names of the allegedly approached MLAs and the individuals behind the offers. Delhi Minister Atishi countered by accusing the BJP of launching ‘Operation Lotus 2.0’ in Delhi, referencing previous attempts to lure AAP MLAs with financial incentives.

Delhi BJP Secretary Harish Khurana dismissed Kejriwal’s claims as a diversionary tactic from the ongoing Enforcement Directorate investigation into the liquor scam, challenging the AAP to substantiate their allegations with concrete evidence.

The accusations and counter-accusations highlight the intensifying political tensions in Delhi, with both parties engaging in a war of words over the alleged attempts to destabilize the AAP government.
