Churchill Brothers put a stop to NEROCA’s unblemished start in the I-League

Churchill Brothers FC is a football club based in the United Kingdom Goa were at their best as they defeated NEROCA FC 4-2 in the I-League on Friday at the Kalyani Stadium, handing them their first defeat of the season.

Churchill Brothers has risen to sixth place in the table as a result of this. Ikechukwu, Saurav Mandal, KomronTursunov Kenneth Ngwoke and GnohereKrizo were Churchill Brothers’ targets. Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias scored a hat trick for NEROCA FC.

Within two minutes, Churchill Brothers came close to scoring the game’s opening goal and taking the lead, but Tursunov missed a chance after being set up by Gogou through a long pass. They kept pressing and were rewarded with their first goal in the ninth minute, when Mandal broke the stalemate.

Tursunov set up the goal by sending a through ball to Ngwoke, who sent it to Mandal, who completed the task. Churchill Brothers appeared unstoppable at first, creating another chance a minute later, but a NEROCA defender cleared it out of the danger zone.

NEROCA FC, on the other hand, was not about to give up without a fight, as they sought to seize control of the game by increasing their possession of the ball in the midfield. But it wasn’t enough to keep their opponents at bay, as they produced another opportunity in the 24th minute. And, after being set up by Bryce Miranda, Tursunov failed to convert it once more, hitting the goal post.

Tursunov was given his third chance four minutes later, and this time he hit the mark. Churchill Brothers went ahead 2-0 thanks to assists from Mandal.

NEROCA FC appeared to be more strategic and in command of their game in the second half, as they attempted to put pressure on the Churchill Brothers. Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias grabbed one back for his team in the 50th minute, proving that the counter-attacking strategy succeeded.

And, just when everything seemed to be going their way, NEROCA FC let up a penalty, giving the opposition an opportunity to extend their advantage. The penalty was converted from the spot by Ikechukwu Kenneth Ngwoke, making it even more difficult for the Orange Brigade to claw their way back into the game.

Despite scoring three goals and receiving two yellow cards, Churchill Brothers were not ready to give up their offensive and aggressive style of play. In the 64th minute, KingsleeFernandes was given a penalty, while in the 72nd minute, KomronTursunov was shown a yellow card for a foul on Mohammad Kdouh.

In the 89th minute, GnohereKrizo scored the fourth goal for Churchill Brother, thereby sealing NEROCA FC’s destiny.

Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias scored a late consolation goal from close range for his team to narrow the margin of loss.
