In the midst of a tumultuous political environment, the Pakistani military establishment has refuted Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s claim that the “establishment” offered him three alternatives ahead of the no-confidence vote: resignation, early elections, or facing the no-confidence motion.
According to The News International, the military establishment said that it did not bring the Opposition’s ideas to the table, and that it was the federal government that called the top brass and requested a meeting to address the current political situation.
According to The News International, the Chief of Pakistan Army Staff General QamarJavedBajwa and the Directive General (DG) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) met with Pakistan PM on Wednesday at the invitation of the governing administration.
Three “options” were discussed between the administration and the military during the discussion. Khan, on the other hand, consented to the third option of ‘dissolving the National Assembly,’ according to insiders, who added that the Prime Minister acknowledged that this was a viable alternative.
According to reports, the military General and DG ISI met with the Opposition after meeting with the Pakistan PM and relayed the three possibilities agreed between the military and the Pakistan PM. According to reports, the Opposition rejected all of these alternatives, including dissolving the Assembly.

According to The News International, citing sources, the military is remaining impartial but invites Khan and the opposition to sit down and discuss the country’s economic and political stability.
During an interview with a media source, Imran Khan claimed that he was given alternatives, adding that he was given the choice of resigning, dissolving the Assembly, or facing a no-confidence motion.
Meanwhile, Jahangir Khan Tareen, the estranged leader of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), met with Pakistan’s former Finance Minister and PML-N leader Ishaq Dar in London on Friday to discuss the upcoming no-confidence vote on Sunday and the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab, according to Geo News, citing sources.
The meeting takes place two days after Dar and Tareen were alleged to have spoken on the phone. According to Geo News, the two leaders discussed probable areas of collaboration in Punjab and the Centre.
