India Strongly Protests China’s ‘Standard Map’ Claiming Indian Territory

India has voiced a robust objection to China’s release of the 2023 “standard map,” which asserts control over Arunachal Pradesh and the Aksai Chin regions. Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for India’s External Affairs Ministry, emphasized that these claims lack any foundation and serve to “complicate” the ongoing boundary discussions. He declared that India has formally registered a vigorous protest through diplomatic channels against China’s territorial assertions.

This development comes after China’s release of the map depicting Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as part of its territory, fueling tensions. The South China Sea was also shown entirely under China’s control. The incident highlights the persistent territorial complexities between the two nations.
