Khalistan supporters tried to set fire to the Indian consulate in San Francisco

The United States on Tuesday “strongly condemned” the reported vandalism and attempted arson by pro Khalistan supporters at the Indian consulate in San Francisco.

Local station reported that Chalistani militants set fire to the Indian consulate between 1.30am and 2.30am. But San Francisco firefighters quickly doused her.

The report added that while damage was limited, no personnel were injured in the incident. Khalistan supporters have reportedly released a video regarding the incident.

“The United States strongly condemns the reported vandalism and attempted arson against the Indian Consulate in San Francisco on Saturday. Vandalism or violence against diplomatic facilities or foreign diplomats in the US is a crime,” tweeted Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department.

The incident comes months after a group of pro-Khalistan protesters attacked and damaged the Indian consulate in San Francisco in March, prompting sharp condemnation from the Indian government and Indian Americans who demanded immediate action against those responsible.

Demonstrators raised pro-Khalistan slogans, broke through temporary security barriers erected by the city police and installed two so-called Khalistan flags in the consulate premises. Two consulate staff soon removed these flags.

The attack on the Indian consulate came hours after pro-Khalistan supporters tore down the Indian tricolor flying atop the Indian High Commission in London.

It announced on Monday that India has asked Canada to take swift action against so-called Khalist extremists who are planning a protest march to the Indian embassies in Toronto and Vancouver after they deliberately tried to blame Indian diplomats and security agencies for killing designated terrorists. Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The 45-year-old head of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) was killed in a gang war on June 19 in the Sikh-dominated city of Surrey, Vancouver. Nijjar had links with the banned organization SFJ, which is led by a designated terrorist based in the US.
