To support humanitarian efforts, India will send relief supplies to Ukraine on the 1st of March

The Indian government has decided to send relief supplies to Ukraine to cope with the humanitarian situation along its borders where tens of thousands of people are attempting to get out of the country in a bid to escape the Russian invasion.

Following a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that evaluated the Indian efforts to bring back the Indians trapped in Ukraine, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed through a statement that the consignment of relief supplies will be sent to Ukraine on Tuesday.

The statement further said that the prime minister has said that India will help people from neighbouring countries as well as those of other developing countries, who are stranded in Ukraine and may seek help.

India’s announcement on the consignment of relief materials came hours after Igor Polikha, the Ukrainian ambassador to India, sought humanitarian assistance from India.
