A three year old girl was raped by her neighbor in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district on Thursday evening, police said, adding that they have arrested the accused. Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Sanghi said they have arrested the 24-year-old accused.
Police said the girl was referred to Gwalior Medical College on Friday afternoon where she is undergoing treatment.
Manmohan Singh, a police officer in Chhatarpur, Rajnagar, said the child was playing outside her house when the accused, who lives in the neighbourhood, took her to a secluded place and raped her.
He said that a First Information Report under the relevant Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) sections has been registered against the accused.
