Two Indian Navy warships arrived in Singapore at the Changi Naval Base

Two Indian Navy warships arrived in Singapore on Monday, officials said. The land phase of the exercise will be held from May 2 to 4 at the Changi Naval Base, and the sea phase will be held from May 7 to 8 in the South China Sea.

The South China Sea has witnessed great Chinese military confidence in recent years. INS Satpura and INS Delhi are the two Indian naval vessels that reached Singapore.

According to the Defense Ministry, the ASEAN-India Naval Exercise (AIME-2023) will enable the Indian navy and the ASEAN navy to cooperate and conduct smooth operations in the maritime space.

INS Delhi is India’s first missile destroyer and INS Satpura is an indigenously built stealth missile frigate. Both the ships are part of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet based in Visakhapatnam.

The ships are equipped with advanced weapons and sensors. The ships will be present during port calls in Singapore, as well as the International Maritime Defense Exhibition (IMDEX-23) held in Singapore and the International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC).
