PM Narendra Modi attend the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhya Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district on Monday and will address representatives and staff of Panchayati Raj Institutes across the country.

He will also conduct a virtual Griha Pravesh (new house entry ceremony) for 4.11 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas ojojana at SAF Grounds in Rewa. It will inaugurate various projects worth $7,853 million under the Jal Jeevan Mission. These projects are said to benefit 9.48 million families in 4036 villages.

Prime Minister will also visit an exhibition in the main square showcasing the progress of various departments. The event will be attended by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Raj Giriraj Singh and State Minister for Steel and Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste.

National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations

Modi will also launch an integrated e-GramSwaraj and GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal to hold government at the panchayat level. The e-GramSwaraj-GeM integration aims to empower panchayats to sell their goods and services through GeM using the e-GramSwaraj platform.

The Prime Minister will also launch the ‘Joint Steps for Growth’ campaign to increase public participation in ensuring full benefits of government schemes. Focusing on inclusive growth, the campaign will focus on extending the benefits of various schemes to the last mile.

Modi will also distribute around 35 million Swamitva Property Cards to the beneficiaries. With the distribution of these cards, around 1.25 million property cards will be distributed in the country under Swamitva ojojana. It will also lay the foundations and contribute to various public railway projects worth approximately $2,300 million.

Project includes doubling of railway tracks, gauge conversion and 100 percent electrification of the railway system in Madhya Pradesh. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Gwalior station and the flag building of three trains.
