Actress Raveena Tandon getting Padma Shri by President Draupadi Murma in front of her entire family

Raveena Tandon was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, by President Draupadi Murmu during a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi yesterday. The actor admits that receiving this honor was an emotional moment for her as she missed the presence of her late father Ravi Tandon.

“It was definitely an emotional moment for me as it was something my father always dreamed of and thought it would be a proud moment for him whenever I get the Padma Shri,” says Raveena, who made a quick trip to the national capital , where he gets that honor.

The 50-year-old continues: “I’ve been given the honor but unfortunately he’s not here to see it. So to receive the honor was mixed feelings for me. It came with a bit of luck and a bit more luck. I was happier when I thought of him and thought (to myself) that at least I fulfilled my dad’s dream.”

The actor got her entire family to support her at the ceremony and watch her receive the honor from the President. She admits that it made the occasion more special, and she hopes she did her children – daughter Rasha Thadani and son Ranbir Thadani.

“It was very special that my children could see me go and get my Padmashri in front of the nation. And I hope they are proud kids today because I am a proud parent whenever I see them getting top marks or when they are honored in school. I’m glad they always complimented me. I am happy today and I think I have made my whole family proud,” shared the actress who took to Instagram to share a few pictures with her family posing in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The actress received the honor after spending more than three decades in the industry and making a mark for herself with projects like Dilwale, Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Ziddi, Shool and K.G.F: Chapter 2. She also recently started a new career chapter by foraying into the OTT space with the series Aryanak.

Tandon feels every role and every experience has helped her rise to glory and is grateful to everyone who believed in her.

“This honor actually means a lot of mixed emotions. I am thankful and grateful to all my producers, directors and my co-stars who believed in me. And to my entire unit who believed in me and stood behind me and supported me. My fans and supporters who came to watch my films. They are the pillar of my strength and thanks to them this great work of mine is recognized today. So I’m really thankful and grateful,” she concludes.
