Vicky Kaushal wraps up ‘Sam Bahadur’ shoot

Actor Vicky Kaushal on Tuesday announced that he has completed the shooting of his next feature project ‘Sam Bahadur’ directed by Meghna Gulzar.

‘Sam Bahadur’ is based on the life and times of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, one of India’s greatest war heroes. Set to hit theaters on December 1, 2023, the film is produced by RSVP Movies.

Sharing the news about the film on Instagram, Kaushal posted a picture with Gulzar, who had earlier directed the actor in his 2018 directorial ‘Raazi’.

The 34-year-old actor said he was grateful to play a “true legend” on the big screen. “Gratitude, gratitude and only gratitude… to be part of this process that depicts the life of a true legend, to be part of this team that really gave it their all. So much to live, so much to learn… so much to bring to you all,” Kaushal wrote.

“To Meghna, Ronnie, my great cast, incredible team… the Manekshaw family, the Indian Army and the man, FM Sam H.F.J. Manekshaw himself… Thank you! IT’S A FILM COVER FOR #SAM!!! See you all in theaters on the 1st. December 2023,” he added.

“Sam Bahadur” went on floors in August last year. It also stars Sanya Malhotra as Manekshaw’s wife Siloo and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Bhavani Iyer wrote the screenplay along with Meghna’s father Gulzar and Shantanu Srivastava. Gulzar is also acting as the lyricist for the film with music by popular trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
