Prakash Raj responded to Akshay Kumar criticizing Richa Chadha for her tweet about the 2020 Galwana clash in which several Indian Army soldiers died. Taking to Twitter, Prakash Raj reacted to Akshay’s tweet and wrote, “I didn’t expect this from you @akshaykumar… he said @RichaChadha is more important to our country than you sir…” Prakash also supported Richa Chadha and tweeted further: “Yes we stand with you @RichaChadha… we understand what you meant. Earlier, Akshay took to Twitter and shared a screenshot of Richa’s comment. He tweeted, “It hurts to see. Nothing should ever make us ungrateful to our armed forces. Woh hain toh aaj hum hain (They are there so we exist).”
Recently, Richa was reacting to Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi’s statement that the Indian Army was “awaiting orders from Govt (sic)” in retaking Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Sharing the statement, Richa took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “Galwan says hi.”
Later, Richa issued an apology statement through a tweet. Richa wrote: “Although it can never be my intention, if the 3 words being dragged into the controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologize and also say that I would be sorry if my words had triggered it even unintentionally. I feel in my brothers in the Fauj, of which my own Nanaji was a prominent part.”
She added, “He was shot in the leg as a lieutenant colonel in the Indochina war, in the 1960s. My Mamaji was a paratrooper. It’s in my blood. The whole family is affected when their son is martyred or even injured while saving a nation made up of people as we are, and I personally know what it’s like. It’s an emotional thing for me.
