Political focus: Rahul Gandhi along with other party leaders and workers continued the Bharat Jodo Yatra

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with other party leaders and workers continued the Bharat Jodo Yatra from here on Tuesday and is expected to cover about 24 km during the day 55. the day of Bharat Jodo Yatra is special. Rahul Gandhi will unfurl the National Flag from Charminar where Rajiv Gandhi started the Sadbhavna Yatra on 19.10.1990,” Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted.

“Every year on that day @INCIndia hoists the national flag here since then. INC President @kharge will join us tonight,” he said. The padayatra continued from the Matha Temple in Shamshabad and will stop at the Legacy Palace in Bahadurpura, Hyderabad for an afternoon break. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will walk with Gandhi in the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Hyderabad later in the day, for the first time after assuming the mantle of the party.

Kharge will arrive in Hyderabad in the afternoon and join Gandhi for the evening leg of the Jatra. Kharge and Gandhi will hoist the tricolor near Charminar at the same spot where former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi hoisted the flag at the launch of the ‘Sadbhavna Yatra’ in the 1980s. Both the Congress president and Gandhi are likely to address a rally at the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road in Hyderabad. The night halt of the Yatra will be at the Gandhi Ideological Center at Bowenpally.
