Ten people were killed and more than 20 injured in an explosion in eastern Baghdad on Saturday, according to security and medical sources. The blast occurred in a garage near a soccer stadium and a cafe when an explosive device attached to a vehicle detonated, leading to another explosion of a gas tanker nearby, security sources said.
Most of the victims were amateurs playing soccer at a neighborhood stadium. A military statement said a tanker exploded in a garage in eastern Baghdad, killing a number of people, and security forces were investigating the cause of the explosion, without giving further details.
