Ahmedabad – In a stark contrast to extravagant billionaire weddings, Jeet Adani, the younger son of business tycoon Gautam Adani, tied the knot with Diva Shah on Friday in a small, intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. The wedding, rooted in Jain and Gujarati traditions, took place at Shantigram, the Adani family’s township in Ahmedabad.
While speculation had been rife about a star-studded affair, Adani had dismissed all rumors, stating earlier that his son’s wedding would be a simple and traditional family event. No celebrities, politicians, or business tycoons were invited, making it a private and low-key affair.
In a remarkable gesture, Gautam Adani announced a ₹10,000 crore donation towards social welfare initiatives, including healthcare, education, and skill development. The funds will be used to build world-class hospitals, medical colleges, K-12 schools, and skill academies, ensuring affordable, high-quality services for millions.
Posting wedding pictures on social media platform X, Adani expressed gratitude and sought blessings for the newlyweds. “With the blessings of Almighty God, Jeet and Diva tied the sacred knot of marriage today. It was a small and extremely private function, so we could not invite all the well-wishers even if we wanted to, for which I apologize,” he wrote.
Jeet, 28, is a director at Adani Airports and an engineering graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. Diva, the daughter of diamond merchant Jaimin Shah, comes from a renowned business family with ties to Mumbai and Surat’s diamond industry.
A reception for Adani Group employees is scheduled for Saturday, further highlighting the family’s emphasis on humility and simplicity.
