Anupam Mittal Hails Budget 2025 Tax Relief as Systemic Correction

Entrepreneur Anupam Mittal founder of Shaadi.com and a well-known investor from Shark Tank India, has praised the Budget 2025 tax reforms, calling them a “systemic correction” rather than just a tax cut.

In a LinkedIn post, Mittal emphasized that a strong economy is built on a thriving middle class, not an overburdened one. He noted that India had historically squeezed its salaried taxpayers instead of fueling spending and investment, a mistake that this Budget seeks to rectify.

Under the new tax regime, income up to ₹12.75 lakh is now tax-free, a move that is expected to boost consumption, savings, and investments. Mittal summed up the impact:
“More disposable income = More consumption = More economic growth. You don’t build an economy by making people feel gareeb. You build it by making them wealthier.”

Revised Tax Slabs Under Budget 2025
Up to ₹4 lakh – Nil
₹4 lakh – ₹8 lakh – 5%
₹8 lakh – ₹12 lakh – 10%
₹12 lakh – ₹16 lakh – 15%
₹16 lakh – ₹20 lakh – 20%
₹20 lakh – ₹24 lakh – 25%
Above ₹24 lakh – 30%
With the middle class receiving a major tax break, experts believe the policy will increase spending power, drive demand across industries, and fuel long-term economic growth.
