Delhi, December 11, 2024 – Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in films like Welcome and Stree 2, endured a harrowing ordeal when he was kidnapped under the pretext of attending an event. The actor’s business partner, Shivam, shared details of the incident, which occurred on the Delhi-Meerut highway, leaving Khan and his family shaken.
Mushtaq Khan was reportedly invited to an event with flight tickets and an advance payment sent to his account. Upon arriving at Delhi airport, he was taken in a car, ostensibly to the event location. However, the car veered off to a secluded area near Bijnor, where he was held hostage.
Shivam revealed that the kidnappers tortured Khan for 12 hours, demanding a ransom of ₹1 crore. They also extracted over ₹2 lakh from the actor and his son’s bank accounts.
In the early hours, Khan heard the call to Azaan and deduced the presence of a nearby mosque. Using this as an opportunity, he escaped, sought help from locals, and reached the police for assistance. Shivam added that Khan was deeply traumatized but determined to seek justice.
After gathering evidence, including flight tickets, bank transactions, and CCTV footage near the airport, Shivam filed an FIR in Bijnor. He noted that Khan could identify the neighborhood and the house where he was held, which will aid the police in apprehending the culprits.
This alarming incident mirrors a recent case involving comedian Sunil Pal, who was kidnapped en route to Haridwar. Pal was released after paying ₹8 lakh in ransom.
Shivam expressed concern about the safety of public figures, stating, “It’s shocking that two celebrities faced similar ordeals. There’s a dire need for awareness and better protection.”
Mushtaq Khan is reportedly recovering from the trauma and is expected to address the media soon. The police investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to bring the culprits to justice.
