Dr Jitendra Singh today informed that Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) in space sector have been received till date by IN-SPACe

Union Minister of State (Independent Representative) for Science and Technology; Minister of State (Independent Representative) for Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today informed that 135 applications from 135 Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) in the space sector have been received till date by IN-SPACe.

Dr Jitendra Singh today tabled a Statement in the Lok Sabha in response to a question on Start-Ups in Space and informed that the IN-SPACE Council has approved a new seed fund program to provide initial financial assistance to India’s space launch. -UPS.

Dr Jitendra Singh said that the revised FDI policy in the space sector to facilitate foreign investment in NGE and the National Space Policy are in the process of final approval by the government.

Regarding the details of the total imports and exports carried out in the country’s space-based industry, the statement said that during the financial year 2021-22, items worth Rs. In order to implement various projects/programs, 2,114 million crowns (approx.) were imported.

Major imported items include EEE components, high strength carbon fiber, space solar cells, detectors, optics, power amplifiers, etc. During the financial year 2021-22, an amount of Rs. 174.90 million crowns was generated for the export of launch services, sales of data and on-orbit support services and post-launch operations.

The statement said that as per gazette notification dated 02.10.2021, IN-SPACe has been mandated to promote, enable, authorize and supervise non-governmental entities in the space sector in India. IN-SPACe has initiated authorization of Indian space companies to use ISRO facilities for private companies / start-ups, installation of facilities at ISRO campuses, launch of satellites and launch vehicles and mentoring support. With the announcement of space sector reforms, private players have started to contribute to the space economy and their share is increasing.
