Virat Kohli was at his best against Pakistan as the Rohit Sharma-led India kicked off their T20 World Cup

Run-machine Virat Kohli was at his brutal best as the Rohit Sharma-led India kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday. In a high-voltage T20 World Cup 2022 clash that carried Pakistan’s world-class bowling attack, Kohli smashed his record-breaking 34th half-century to give India a memorable fightback in a final thriller at Melbourne’s MCG.

Kohli engineered India’s stunning four-wicket win over Pakistan to win praise from the entire cricketing fraternity. From the legendary cricketer Wasim Akram to the great fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, several notables in Pakistan cricket have also applauded the former Indian captain’s batting brilliance. Pakistan batsman Kamran Akmal, who has been raving about ‘King Kohli’ on his official YouTube channel, has finally made a remarkable statement about the beleaguered Pakistan side.

“If it was any other batsman in his place, the match wouldn’t have gone that far. Honestly, if it was our (Pakistan) batting, we would have lost it by 30-40 runs. We can’t handle that kind of pressure. I think all our young guys ( in Pakistan) who are playing in the U15 and U19 camps, Virat Kohli’s entire innings should be shown. They will get coaching by watching his innings and how he finished the match,” said Akmal.

Asked to chase down a challenging 159 in the World Cup opener, Kohli-starrer Team India secured a famous victory in the last ball of a thrilling encounter at the MCG. Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 82 off 53 balls to seal India’s four-wicket victory over Babar-led Pakistan. The Rohita-led side’s talismanic batting line-up was also named Player of the Match for his master class batting.

“The kind of shots he played against Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz in the last match. Only a batsman of his stature can play something like that in modern cricket. The way Kohli smashed Rauf for a six straight down the ground, no one can.” do it,” the Pakistani cricketer added.
