The government has created a robust security apparatus to ensure that no anti-Indian element can cast an evil eye on the country’s sovereignty, unity and integrity. This was stated by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh while unveiling the statue of famous Marwari warrior Veer Durgadas Rathorein Jodhpur in Rajasthan on August 13, 2022. Shri Rajnath Singh stated that the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi agrees to give top priority to the safety and security of the people of India and assured nation that anyone who tries to disturb the peace and harmony in the country will be given a befitting reply. He stated that the armed forces are equipped with latest weapons/platforms and added that they are ready to face all future threats and protect national interests.
Emphasizing the importance of achieving self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing to build a strong military, Raksha Mantri said that the Ministry of Defense has undertaken a series of reforms to manufacture indigenous weapons/platforms for the armed forces under the ‘Aatmanirbhar BharatAbhiyan’. He listed some of the reforms, including earmarking 68 percent of the budget for capital procurement for domestic industry in 2022-23 and allocating 25 percent of the domestic budget for capital procurement for private industry.
Shri Rajnath Singh added that due to the measures taken by the Government in the last few years, India has leapfrogged and found a place among the top 25 defense exporters in the world. “By the end of this decade, India will not only be producing defense equipment for itself, but also meeting the needs of friendly foreign countries. “Make in India, Make for the World” is the new mantra of our Ministry of Defense Manufacturing. Our determination is to make India a net exporter of defense equipment in times to come,” he said.
On the occasion, Raksha Mantri paid glowing tributes to veer Durgadas Rathore and described him as a symbol of social harmony, honesty, bravery and devotion. He stated that people, irrespective of caste or religion, should take inspiration from Veer Durgadas Rathore, who sought peace and harmony against divisive elements in society.
