Travel time for commuters traveling from Nagpur to Pune will be reduced to eight hours, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said. Considering the inconvenience that commuters currently have to undergo while traveling from Nagpur to Pune, the Nagpur-Mumbai Samridhi Mahamarg will be connected to the newly designed Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) Access Control Green Expressway near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
In a series of tweets, Gadkari – Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways – said that this road will be built under a completely new NHAI layout. This will enable travel from Pune to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) in two-and-a-half hours and from Nagpur to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) in five-and-a-half hours via Samruddhi Mahamarg,” the minister said. It currently takes around 14 hours to travel from Nagpur to Pune by road.
