Space Focus: Scientists are simulating “time machines” to visualize the life cycle of ancestors galaxies

The imitation of the universe is important in examining how the universe came to be in the present system of things, but many do not agree with what astronomers observe. Most are designed to match the real universe only in a mathematical sense. Compulsory cosmological imitations, on the other hand, are designed to reproduce the structures we see in the universe. However, many of the existing simulations of this type have been applied to the entire universe, which means that they are close to the Earth, but not in the distant universe.

A team of researchers, led by the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe Project Researcher and original author Metin Ata and Project Assistant Professor Khee-Gan Lee, were interested in remote construction as major proto-cluster galaxies, modern ancestors galaxy clusters before they merge under their gravitational force. They have found the current protocluster studies are sometimes extremely simplified, which means they are made with simpler models and not simulations.

“We wanted to try to do a full simulation of a real long space to see how the buildings started and how they ended,” Ata said. Their result was COSTCO (Constrained Simulations of The Cosmos Field).Lee said doing the simulation is like building a time machine. Because light from outer space reaches only to Earth, the telescopes of galaxies seen today are a brief reflection of the past.”It’s like finding an old black and white picture of your grandfather and making a video of his life,” he said.

With this in mind, researchers took summaries of the size of the “small” galaxies of the universe and then quickly passed their years to study the design of the galaxies. The light emanating from the galaxies used by researchers traveled some 11 billion light-years across.

The biggest challenge was looking at the status quo

“This is a very important factor in the conclusion of those structures whether they are separate or associated with a larger structure. If you ignore the environment, you get completely different responses. Another important reason why researchers set up these comparisons was the study of the common model of cosmology, which is used to explain the physics of the universe. By predicting the ultimate size and final distribution of buildings in a particular area, researchers can reveal differences that have never been seen before in our current understanding of the universe.

Using their simulations, the researchers were able to find evidence of protocluster galaxies already published and did not like a single structure. In addition, they were able to identify five other structures that consistently formed in their simulations. This includes the Hyperion proto-supercluster, the largest and first proto-supercluster known today that is 5,000 times the size of our Milky Way galaxy, which researchers found to fall into a massive 300 million light-years.Their work is now being used in other projects, including astronomical observations, as well as a few quasar absorption lines to name a few.
