Multi-level security measures have been put in place ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s public rally in Rajouri on Tuesday, officials said on Monday. Security forces conducted cordon and search operations at several places here on Monday, they said. Joint teams of army, police and paramilitary forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Chechra, Seeran and Dassal Jattan forest and conducted a thorough search of the area for any suspicious movement, officials said.
They said the CASO is part of the heightened security measures that have been put in place in the border district ahead of the high-profile visit. Several CASOs have been conducted in the district, which also has round-the-clock patrolling to dominate the area, in the past few days, officials said, adding that a similar search operation was conducted around the home minister’s meeting place and the entire area was disinfected.
Shah is scheduled to address a public rally in Rajouri city on Tuesday. All intelligence agencies are maintaining the highest level of alert and the police and paramilitary forces are taking utmost care of security arrangements in their areas of jurisdiction, a security official said.
