Bollywood star Salman Khan faces yet another security threat, this time over a song that reportedly mentions his name alongside jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The latest threat was received by Mumbai’s traffic control room around midnight on Thursday. In the message, the sender warned that the songwriter behind the track would face severe consequences within a month, saying, “The songwriter’s condition will be such that he will no longer be able to write songs. If Salman Khan has the courage, he should save them.”
This incident adds to a series of escalating threats from Bishnoi and his associates, who have allegedly targeted Khan due to grievances linked to a 1998 blackbuck poaching case, a sensitive issue for the Bishnoi community, known for their commitment to wildlife protection.
In related developments, police in Karnataka recently arrested 32-year-old Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, in connection with previous threats to Khan. During interrogation, he reportedly expressed admiration for Lawrence Bishnoi, considering him an “idol,” and shared plans to use a ₹5 crore ransom to build a temple for the Bishnoi community.
Shah Rukh Khan Also Targeted in Separate Threat
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police are investigating a separate case involving a ₹50 lakh extortion threat directed at actor Shah Rukh Khan. The call was traced to a phone belonging to Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur who had reported his phone stolen on November 2. Faizan had previously raised objections against Shah Rukh Khan over a reference to deer hunting in the 1994 film Anjaam, a sensitive issue for the Bishnoi community. In a two-hour interrogation, Faizan maintained his innocence, suggesting the call may have been an attempt to implicate him falsely.
As police investigations into these threats continue, both actors remain under heightened security, and authorities are taking steps to ensure their safety amidst ongoing threats from associates of Lawrence Bishnoi.
