China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, conveyed the country’s eagerness to enhance collaboration with Russia across the entire energy production chain during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Wang Yi expressed China’s readiness to bolster the comprehensive relationship with Russia and actively advance cooperation in the energy sector, encompassing upstream, midstream, and downstream activities.
The Chinese Foreign Minister’s statement underscores the depth and versatility of the existing cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, particularly in emerging areas like new and renewable energy sources. The collaboration also extends to the processing of energy raw materials, contributing to the formation of what was described as an “energy alliance” between the two nations.
