A neighbor allegedly raped and murdered a seven-year-old girl to allegedly avenge his wife’s alleged extramarital affair with the child’s father in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district, police said. The matter came to light on Monday after the girl’s remains were found in a forest area. The girl was allegedly raped and killed on November 17 Police officer Ashish Jain said the girl went missing on November 17 and a case was registered against an unknown person for her abduction.
Citing their investigation, he said they arrested Rajesh Rajak (31) on Sunday based on his call recording. “Rajak confessed and said that his wife had an extramarital affair with a neighbour. He tried to stop her but nothing worked. He decided to take revenge and kidnapped a neighbor’s daughter and raped her. He later killed her and left her body in the forest.” Rajak was booked under sections 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Child Sexual Offenses Act.
