Dehradun: Renowned Indian superstar Rajinikanth has commenced his much-anticipated spiritual journey to the Himalayas. The iconic actor arrived in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, to embark on his pilgrimage to sacred caves, continuing his tradition of annual spiritual retreats.
Rajinikanth, known for his deep spirituality, spoke to ANI at Dehradun Airport about the profound experiences these trips bring. “Every year I used to get new experiences that made me continue my spiritual journey again and again. I believe even this time, I will get new experiences,” he said, emphasizing the personal growth he derives from these journeys.
Highlighting the significance of spirituality, Rajinikanth remarked, “The whole world needs spirituality, as it’s important for every human being. Being spiritual means experiencing peace and tranquility, and fundamentally, it involves believing in God.”
Recently, Rajinikanth also visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, where he received blessings. This visit came shortly after he was granted the UAE’s prestigious Golden Visa, an honor he attributed to the support of the Abu Dhabi government and his friend MA Yusuff Ali, chairman and managing director of Lulu Group. On the professional front, Rajinikanth has wrapped up filming for his upcoming movie Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, is set for a worldwide release in October this year. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a photo of the two legendary actors on set, expressing his admiration for Rajinikanth’s humility and greatness.
The ensemble cast of Vettaiyan includes prominent actors such as Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer for the film. Rajinikanth was seen filming in various locations, including Trivandrum, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin.
Rajinikanth’s last appearance was in his daughter Aishwarya’s film Lal Salaam, a Tamil-language sports drama addressing themes of caste oppression and religious discrimination. The film, featuring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, received mixed reviews, with Rajinikanth making a notable extended cameo as Moideen Bhai.
