Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot hit out at Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for targeting Rahul Gandhi, saying no one thought the duo would start using such low-level language against the Gandhi scion.
At Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for targeting Rahul Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot said “no one thought that the duo could talk in such a manner, BJP leaders are tired as Gandhi did not shy away from raising people’s voice despite so many attacks”.
Therefore, these leaders who retired from the Congress were assigned the task. The ideology they swore to fight for their entire lives is today being faced with the same fascist ideology at the behest of BJP leaders, Gehlot said.
Scindia launched a scathing attack on Gandhi and the Congress, claiming that the party had no ideology left except that of a “traitor working against the country”.
He attacked the Congress for giving Gandhi “special treatment” after his conviction in a defamation case. He accused the party of pushing the judiciary and doing everything to stay relevant.
Once considered close to Gandhi, Scindia left the Congress after differences with the leadership and joined the BJP in 2020. Similarly, Azad, who quit the Congress last year, said Gandhi was the main reason why he and many others were not in the Congress today, arguing that one had to be “spineless” to stay in the grand old party.
