Novavax Inc said on Friday (July 1) that it expects to provide the Covid-19 vaccine targeting Omicron in the fourth quarter as it accelerates the development of a gun to protect against BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants. At that point, U.S. health regulators will not require companies to submit new clinical trial data to Covid-19 vaccines targeting sub-variants of BA.4 and the current BA.5Omicron to authoriz such shootings, but instead will rely on in a study showing the effectiveness of predicting the BA.1 subvariant, the chief executive said Thursday. Dr. Peter Marks, chief of staff at the US FDA, told Reuters that the agency would also consider production data related to vaccine BA.4 and BA.5, and that clinical data from animal studies and safety data for those images could be obtained.
