Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is an Indian oil and gas explorer and manufacturer. It is owned by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Government of India. In a study conducted by the Indian government in the 2019-20 financial year, it is listed as the largest profitable sector in the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) sector in India. It is ranked 25th among the top 250 Global Energy companies by Platts.
ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), the National Oil Company of India, has obtained oil from a recently dug well, Urraca-IX, at CPO. -5 block, Llanos Basin, Colombia. However, the Urraca-1X was washed on April 20, 2022 and drilled to indicate a depth (TD) of 10956 ft., Encountering 17 ft thick sand carrying oil at a depth from 10201ft -10218 ft. During the first test with Pump Submersible Electrical (ESP)), fluid flows @ approx. 600 bbl./day approximately 40-50% W / C and 16oAPI oil. The discovery of oil in the Lower Mirador game at this source opens up new areas for further exploration in the northern part of the block.
ONGC Videsh previously acquired low-cost oil sands in the Mariposa and Indico areas of the blockchain in 2017 and 2018 respectively, currently producing and selling 20,000 bbl oil per day.Block CPO-5 was awarded to ONGC Videsh Limited in the 2008 Colombian bidding round. ONGC Videsh holds 70% of participatory interest (PI) in the area and work, 30% remaining held by partner Geopark. ONGC Videsh has an important presence in the oil and gas sector in Colombia, with three other exploration blocks in the country as well as joint ownership of oil company Mansarovar Energy Colombia Ltd (MECL). The discovery of oil in a new blockchain game with the Urraca-1X spring, doubles the technical ability and function of ONGC Videsh and adds one feather to its snow in a comprehensive Exploration and Football campaign in Colombia.
