Seoul: North Korea launched an “unidentified ballistic missile” early Wednesday, marking its second such test in a week, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency. Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) confirmed the detection of the missile but did not immediately provide further details, stating that an analysis was in progress.
The launch has also been confirmed by Japanese authorities, with the country’s coastguard issuing warnings for vessels to remain cautious. This latest missile test adds to a series of provocative actions by Pyongyang, raising concerns about regional security amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
Both South Korea and Japan have been on high alert as North Korea continues to conduct missile tests in defiance of international sanctions and diplomatic efforts aimed at denuclearizing the region. The international community is closely monitoring the situation for further developments.
