The Supreme Court on Friday refused to give Maharashtra Cabinet minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik a money laundering case, saying the investigation was already underway.
A bench of judges DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant said they would not violate the order of the Bombay High Court on March 15 but Malik could find a legal solution before the trial court.
Advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Malik, said they arrested me in 2022 for what happened in 1999.He said there was no case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The bench said the investigation was still ongoing and would not affect the order of the high court.
