Celebration of National Art Exhibition and SNA Awards Ceremony

Union Minister of Culture, Shri G. Kishan Reddy opened the 62nd National Art Exhibition at the LKA Gallery and SNA Awardee Working Ceremony at the Kamani Auditorium on 9th April in New Delhi. Minister of State for Culture Smt. MeenakshiLekhi also enjoyed the event. At the event Shri G. Kishan Reddy and Smt. MeenakshiLekhi entertained the Fellows and Awardees and released the 62nd N.E.A catalog and introduced the New Website of Lalit Kala Akademi. Lalit Kala Academy Chairperson Ms Uma Nanduri and other dignitaries were also present at the event.

 Speaking at the event, Shri Reddy said the purpose of the National Arts Show was to showcase the potential of all the nominees and winners. It is exciting to see that there is a positive reaction of artists to this show and the competition. It shows the devastation of our times and the opportunities offered by Lalit Kala Akademi with the support of the Department of Culture. Shri Reddy added that Indian art over the past hundred years reflects a wide range of artistic responses to reality.

National

 Current art trends and art styles are created by a small group of modern artists and aim to show how art continues to emerge in this difficult time of the epidemic. “New forms of knowledge, sensitivity to beauty and ideas have reshaped the art process. Young artists were trying to innovate and respond to the environment around them”added Shri Reddy. Shri Reddy said the modern trends of artists always come from the use of different styles and their different styles.

Highlights of the day

Shri Reddy also highlighted that he is very happy to know that in commemoration of this wonderful AzadikaAmrit Mahotsav vision of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Lalit Kala Akademi has decided to bring out street art under the head of Jan Bhagidari, where ordinary people take part. it is an important part of shaping. Shri G Kishan Reddy urged artists to remember and highlight the artistic work of artists who contributed to the Indian liberation struggle through their works of art.

During his speech Smt. MeenakshiLekhi extends her best wishes to all the recipients. He noted that an artist sees the world through a different eye and that this art is only available to the artist. The art objects in this exhibition are a testament to the bright future of Indian art. Smt. Lekhi added that the Lalit Kala Akademi is trying to bring various Indian art to one place. He thanked that to encourage artists, the Academy has increased the number of National Awards from 15-20 from this year.

The Performing Arts Festival showcasing the Academy Awards will last for 11 days bringing the audience a unique series of performances across the country and ranging from a variety of genres such as music, dance, drama, traditional arts and related arts and dolls.
