India won 4 medals on Day 5 of Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham & PM Narendra Modi congratulated them with tweets

India won 4 medals on Day 5 of Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Following the Lawn Bowls team’s historic women’s doubles gold, the men’s table tennis team secured their second gold medal of the day after defeating Singapore 3-1 in the final. Then weightlifter Vikas Thakur won the silver medal in the men’s 96 kg final and the mixed badminton team won the silver medal after losing to Malaysia in the final. India’s medal tally reached 13 with 5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Sports Minister Shri Anurag Thakur and Indians from all corners of the country congratulated the team for their success.
President Smt. Droupadi Murmu congratulated the table tennis team for winning gold at CWG 2022. The President tweeted, “Congratulations to Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai and Sanil Shetty for winning a historic table tennis gold at CWG 2022. They have shown extraordinary skill and determination. They won the hearts of the nation. I am sure this feat will inspire our youth.” Congratulating Badminton Team The President tweeted: “Congratulations to the members of the Indian Badminton Team for winning the silver medal in the Commonwealth Mixed Team Games. The skills, teamwork and fighting spirit displayed by them is remarkable. I express my kudos to all the players.”
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated table tennis team for winning gold medal, badminton team for winning silver medal and weightlifter Vikas Thakur for winning silver medal at CWG 2022. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated G. Sathiyan, Harmeet Desai, Sharat Kamal and Sanil Shetty for winning gold medals in table tennis. The Prime Minister tweeted, “Great news in table tennis! Congratulations to the dynamic team of G. Sathiyan, Harmeet Desai, Sharat Kamal and Sanil Shetty for winning the gold medal at the CWG. This team has set high standards whether in skills or Best wishes for their future effort.”
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said; “Congratulations to the Indian Badminton Team @srikidambi, @satwiksairaj, @buss_reddy, @lakshya_sen, @Shettychirag04, Treesa Jolly, Aakarshi Kashyap, @P9Ashwini, Gayatri Gopichand and @Pvsindhu1 for winning the CWG.G silver medal. Achievement.” In another tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Badminton is among the most admired sports in India. A silver medal in CWG will make the game even more popular and ensure more people watch it in times to come.” Congratulating weightlifter Vikas Thakur on his silver medal win, PM tweeted, “More glory at CWG this time thanks to Vikas Thakur who won silver in weightlifting. Delighted with his success. His dedication to the sport is commendable. I wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
Sports Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur also congratulated the medal winners. Shri Thakur tweeted, “Another magical GOLD medal. A stellar show by the Indian men’s table tennis team. Incidentally, our enthusiastic rowers led by Sharath Kamal, G. Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai outclassed formidable Singapore 3-1. We successfully defended the crown!” In another tweet, Shri Thakur said, “Indian Badminton Mixed Team showed guts as they battled to win silver #CWG2022!! Kudos to Chirag & Satwik’s comeback and Sindhu’s unerring confidence! Kidambi’s energetic play was a delight for sports fans. Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Pullela showed their fighting spirit!” Congratulations to Vikas Shri Thakur tweeted: “Fantastic performance by Vikas Thakur who won his 3rd medal in a row at the Commonwealth Games and won the silver medal in the men’s 96kg final with a total lift of 346kg! Snatch – 155 kg, Clean & Jerk – 191 kg.”
