Campaigning in Gujarat on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of harboring terrorists when he was in power at the Centre. Addressing a public meeting in Kheda, PM Modi said that Gujarat has been bearing the brunt of terrorism for ages. “We told them to target terrorism, but the Congress government targeted Modi. And as a result, terrorists became fearless and terrorism raised its head in big cities,” PM Modi said. Referring to the Batla House encounter in Delhi, PM Modi said, “Don’t forget that the Congress leader cried for terrorists.” However, PM Modi did not take Sonia Gandhi’s name in his attack.
Congress sees terrorism through the lens of banking and appeasement. “Not only Congress, now there are many such parties who are taking shortcuts of appeasement to come to power,” PM Modi said. “Your votes in 2014 changed the scenario. Now terrorists are afraid to attack our borders and Indian cities are safe because now India is entering the den of terrorism and attacking them. But whether it is Congress or other parties who vote for banking policies , questioning our surgical strike.” ” said PM Modi. “Terrorism has not stopped. Congress policy has also not changed. We have to keep Gujarat safe from Congress and other such parties,” PM Modi added.
